3 Released WWE Female Superstars That AEW Might Target In 2023

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Last week, WWE made a surprising move by letting go of several wrestlers, both from its development and main roster. This decision was attributed to budget constraints and the merger of the two giant wrestling companies, WWE and UFC, resulting in the creation of a single publicly registered entity called The TKO Group Holdings.

Many of these releases shocked the wrestling community. Let’s take a look at three female WWE superstars who were recently released and whom AEW might consider signing in 2023:

3) Dana Brooke

Dana Brooke, at 34 years old, has been involved in wrestling for a decade. While she never clinched a WWE women’s championship or a women’s tag team title, she achieved something unique. Dana Brooke holds the record for being the WWE 24/7 champion 15 times, with a combined reign of 335 days, second only to R-Truth. Although this championship is now retired, her 15-time win is a significant accomplishment. Over the years, Dana has shown improvement in her in-ring skills, making her a potential asset for AEW’s women’s roster.

2) Lacey Evans

Lacey Evans, also 33 years old, was once on the verge of becoming a major star in the women’s division. She gained attention through her storyline with Ric Flair and was poised to become a Women’s Champion. However, her real-life pregnancy led to an extended absence, disrupting her plans. When she returned, Ric Flair was no longer part of the picture, and WWE struggled to find a suitable storyline for her, ultimately leading to her release. Lacey Evans possesses undeniable charisma, having worked alongside a legend like Ric Flair. With some guidance from AEW’s coaching team, she could find a place in their women’s roster.

1) Emma, also known as Tenille Dashwood outside of WWE

The most prominent name on this list is Emma, which may not surprise many. She was initially expected to be a major star in WWE’s women’s division, starting her career alongside Paige (now known as Saraya in AEW) and Sasha Banks (known as Mercedes Mone in NJPW), both of whom became pioneers in WWE’s women’s division. Joining the main roster in WWE with these talents elevated her status, even though she didn’t achieve the same level of success and popularity as them, leading to her eventual release. Emma later found success in Impact Wrestling, becoming an Impact Knockout Tag Champion, but she was re-signed by WWE and then released again due to recent budget cuts. Emma is highly talented and has made significant improvements in her in-ring skills. She played a role in advancing WWE’s women’s division to what it is today. AEW’s women’s division could benefit from her presence.

In conclusion, these are the released female wrestlers from WWE whom we believe AEW might consider signing once their 90-day no-compete clauses expire. Share your thoughts in the comments and mention any other wrestlers you’d like to see in AEW.
