Michael Chandler Shocks WWE Raw, Calls Out Conor McGregor As ‘Candy Ass’

1 years ago By Jhon Woug

The trend for the media continued with the former UFC lightweight champ, Michael Chandler, posing a malicious challenge to Conor McGregor while the latter was on a WWE Raw show. This twitch was surely noticed, and even though speculations still arise, some fans can’t help being excited by both the UFC and WWE.

The standoff between the two has been brewing for a while now, triggered by their roles as bitter rivals on “The Ultimate Fighter” reality TV series last year. Rumours of an imminent fight between the two bombastic athletes have not faded, but the talks have been slow-paced as contract negotiations move one step after another, and Chandler feels extremely annoyed as he wants to take the octagon and avenge the scores that he thinks he should have settled with his rivals a long time ago.

And, for his part, Chandler didn’t waste his opportunity when he appeared at the WWE Raw in Anaheim, California. Audaciously and shamelessly, he presented himself as the most beloved fighter in the UFC arenas all over the world, and with bravado, he challenged “The Notorious” Conor McGregor to duel him in octagon to settle the old score.

With his choice of the word “candy ass,”  Chandler made a bold and in-your-face statement when he characterised McGregor as someone who’s scared to engage in combat. This wording is characteristic of many combat sports. This is a clear indication of Chandler’s readiness and zeal to face a celebrated opponent. He has been waiting for this bout.

The ‘call-out’ by Chandler appears suitable at that particular moment, especially after the recent merger of the UFC and WWE. This has given rise to new opportunities for integrated promotional functions and one-pairs, making the synchronicity even more mysterious. Moreover, Chandler’s challenge has been shortlisted for humanitarian work because of its crossover element, which has fueled fans both in the realms of the UFC and WWE.

At first, McGregor had said he would fight Chandler, who was 185 pounds in June. Despite the contrary claims of Dana White, the UFC President, he poured the ice water over the anticipation, stating the logistical problems of the fight and Conor McGregor’s injury as the reasons to explain the speculations.

This has now created such a debate on the possibility of the match taking place or not that fans stand the risk of never seeing Chandler and McGregor hit the canvas someday.

The probability of McGregor’s return to the ring is being rekindled mainly by the stirred expectations among the media. White agrees though that McGregor is seriously injured despite his fighting spirit. The situation where fighters frequently get underpaid is said to be the norm, but he doesn’t care about the benefits he gets but his passion. In regards to the financial position of McGregor, we need to ask the question of whether he will be willing to enter the Octagon once more and thus progress on a cycle trail.

Chandler is the opposite of the above; he isn’t deterred by the difficulty and vagueness but proceeds in his attempt to stand up to McGregor. His anger and unyielding spirit found vent during his assault on WWE Raw. He dares to challenge the statue of a titan while facing a notorious competitor and proving he’s worthy to be on the field on which these two giants stand.

The fight between the two boxers, i.e., Chandler and McGregor, is getting more exciting as fans are waiting for their fight to pass. The mistrust and hatred between the characters of the play are inflated by the passionate argument between the two most fascinating and lovable people.

Fans straight away speculate whether or not this fight will actually take place, but there’s no doubt that this match-up will be the centre of attention. So, when these two eventually meet in the Octagon, it will turn out to be one unique event.
