WWE Legend Booker T Trains Umaga’s Son, Zilla Fatu, Ahead of His Pro Wrestling Debut

Zilla Fatu

In an exciting piece of news for fans of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) legacy, Zilla Fatu, son of the legendary Umaga, made his professional wrestling debut on July 15th. The 23-year-old star showcased his wrestling prowess in the first match of his career at Reality of Wrestling’s Summer of Champions IX event. Yet, the person responsible for his training was not from the Samoan heritage as one might expect but was a WWE Hall of Famer and legend in his own right.

Booker T: The Master Behind the Newcomer

Booker T, the WWE Hall of Famer, undertook the task of training Fatu, bringing him into his promotion based in Houston, Texas. This isn’t the first time Reality of Wrestling has seen the presence of a Samoan legend; Umaga himself was a part of the promotion.

The veteran wrestler’s influence is already visible in the young Fatu’s performance, who showcased his innate talent and the skills instilled by Booker T in his debut match. Wrestling fans and industry insiders alike are intrigued by the blending of two great wrestling lineages – the Samoan dynasty and Booker T’s legacy.

A Tribute to Umaga

Fatu made sure to pay tribute to his father during his in-ring debut, using the Samoan Spike – a move his father popularized in WWE – to win his first match. This move is currently being used as a finisher by Fatu’s cousin, Solo Sikoa, further cementing the legacy of Umaga in World Wrestling Entertainment.

In an interview with MuscleManMalcolm post his debut match, Fatu confessed to feeling extremely nervous prior to the match. “Before going into it, I was really nervous,” Fatu said. “God blessed me, and we didn’t have any hiccups today, but I still feel I could have done way better.” (H/T Fightful) Despite his debut match jitters, Fatu’s performance was highly anticipated and well-received.

The young Samoan wrestler also expressed his gratitude towards Reality of Wrestling and his trainer, Booker T, for the chance to showcase his abilities on such a major platform. He hinted at his ambition, playfully suggesting his ultimate goal was to ‘own WWE’.

As Zilla Fatu steps into the wrestling ring, the world watches with bated breath. Trained by a WWE legend and carrying forward the legacy of a Samoan icon, the stakes are high. Yet, if his debut performance is any indication, it’s clear that this young wrestler is more than up for the challenge. The wrestling world can undoubtedly look forward to exciting times ahead with Zilla Fatu in the ring.
