WWE Superstar Logan Paul believes pro wrestling is harder than boxing

2 years ago By Sports Desk

Logan Paul, a prominent internet personality, made his WWE debut at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, adding professional wrestling to his resume alongside high-profile boxing matchups with KSI and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

While Paul’s boxing endeavors haven’t translated into victories, he recently shared an intriguing perspective on the relative difficulty of wrestling versus boxing during an interview with Stephen A. Smith. Paul claimed that despite not being a professional sport, the WWE had proven harder for him than boxing.

Logan Paul has controversial take on pro wrestling

Paul highlighted that while boxing certainly demands a particular level of physical toughness and a mindset to confront an opponent, he views wrestling as an even more intricate endeavor. In his words, the mental challenge of wrestling is the aspect that sets it apart. The process of devising a mental strategy to outwit an adversary in boxing comes more instinctively to him.

Explaining the unique demands of wrestling, Paul remarked on the multifaceted nature of the industry. He emphasized the encompassing nature of the wrestling world, comparing it to a 360-degree experience. Unlike boxing, where the primary focus is on the opponent in front of him, in wrestling, Paul must consider the thousands of fans observing the performance. His role extends beyond mere combat to encompass the art of entertaining the audience.

Paul likened wrestling to “Broadway on steroids,” noting the athleticism and distinct talents of WWE Superstars. This diverse skill set, combined with the pressure of a live audience, presents a unique mental challenge that he didn’t anticipate. As an entertainer, Paul not only needs to execute physical maneuvers proficiently but also ensure that the audience enjoys the show. He admitted that he finds the mental aspect of WWE more taxing than the mental demands of boxing.

Despite finding success in the world of professional wrestling, Paul is returning to the boxing ring to face MMA fighter Dillon Danis in Manchester, England. His foray into wrestling includes matches against illustrious opponents like Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, and he secured a rare singles win against Ricochet at SummerSlam.

Logan Paul’s insights provide a unique perspective on the intricate mental landscape of professional wrestling. While both boxing and wrestling demand unique sets of skills and mental attributes, Paul’s revelations shed light on the multifaceted nature of wrestling that extends beyond physical prowess. As he continues to navigate both the wrestling ring and the boxing arena, Paul’s appreciation for the mental complexities of wrestling adds an intriguing layer to his evolving career.
