Kurt Angle and Randy Orton are not just two of the most prominent WWE stars of this generation. The two are also close friends, and regularly speak about each other.

Recently, during an episode of “The Kurt Angle Show,” Angle delved into Orton’s rapid ascent in WWE, despite his relative inexperience within the wrestling ring. Angle spoke highly of Orton’s talent and charisma, describing how Orton possessed the coveted “it” factor right from the start.

Despite starting his wrestling journey at the age of 17, Orton’s remarkable skills and innate qualities swiftly propelled him to become a world champion. Angle recalled, “He deserved it. I think he’s the youngest champion in history.”

Angle and Orton’s friendship isn’t just a professional camaraderie; it’s a bond that has transcended the confines of the wrestling world. Angle reminisced about their early days on the road together, forming a close connection that endures to this day. Their bond extends to their spouses as well, with Angle’s wife Kim and Orton’s wife Giovanna becoming close friends over the years.

“We were hanging out, we were traveling together when Randy started,” Angle shared. “Randy has always been a good friend of mine, he’s still my friend to this day, and he’s one of the very few wrestlers that I actually still keep in touch with.” Angle emphasized that their friendship remains strong even though they found themselves on different WWE brands at various times.

The conversation naturally turned to Orton’s current circumstances. Having been out of action for over a year due to a back injury, Orton continues to dedicate himself to his recovery and training. Angle commended Orton’s commitment, stating, “Even though he has time off right now, he’s training his butt off and he’s still rehabbing and everything.”

Orton’s legacy in WWE is undeniable, with him becoming the youngest world champion in the company’s history at the age of 24. His journey to the top served as a testament to his unparalleled talent and dedication to the craft.

Angle’s reflections on Orton offer a glimpse into the often-hidden relationships that shape the world of professional wrestling. Beyond the scripted storylines and larger-than-life characters, the genuine connections between wrestlers contribute to the fabric of WWE’s rich tapestry.
