Dana White Reacts To Sean Strickland Assaulting Fan In Sydney

Dana White isn’t taking any more chances with Sean Strickland. The UFC president recently addressed Strickland’s recent altercation with a fan in Sydney. Claiming that the narrative of the incident was hyped up more than necessary, White clarified that the promotion has taken steps to ensure Strickland doesn’t get into trouble again. 

Sean Strickland is arguably the UFC’s most polarizing personality. The 32-year-old American is widely known for his unfiltered rants and his over-the-top way of expressing himself. Interestingly, Strickland has often claimed that he dreams about hurting someone seriously. Now that he’s in Sydney for the UFC 293 event, it seems Strickland has already found himself in hot water. 

‘Tarzan’ was walking down a street in Sydney when a fan approached him. The fan allegedly taunted him about getting knocked out by Israel Adesanya this weekend, and Strickland responded by punching him in the stomach. After the incident, fans speculated if the No.5-ranked middleweight was in serious trouble. 

However, Dana White later clarified that the incident was a light-hearted moment and the fan was unhurt. However, he also claimed that the UFC will not take the matter lightly and has arranged for people to babysit Sean Strickland while he’s in Australia. White made the statement during a press conference after the latest episode of DWCS. Interestingly, ‘Tarzan’ also got into trouble with the Australian media for blasting the country’s freedom of speech laws. 

Meanwhile, Strickland is busy gearing up for his upcoming middleweight title fight against Israel Adesanya. The two longtime rivals will go five rounds in the main event of UFC 293 at the Qudos Bank Arena this weekend. A heavyweight banger between Tai Tuivasa and Alexander Volkov will precede the highly anticipated championship fight.
