3 Matches That Need To Be Added For WWE Fastlane 2023
The upcoming episode of WWE RAW tonight is expected to advance several exciting storylines and rivalries leading up to Fastlane 2023. For those who don’t know, Fastlane is the next big live event hosted by the company. It’s scheduled for Saturday, October 7th, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The promotion has already announced various key segments and matches for this week’s edition of WWE RAW, and there’s a chance they may also confirm a few bouts for Fastlane.
With that said, let’s take a look at three matches that we think should be included in WWE Fastlane 2023, and WWE might make them official tonight on RAW:
#3 Gunther vs. Multiple Opponents at Fastlane 2023
Gunther, after successfully defending his Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable, has now achieved the longest reign as IC Champion in WWE history. Over the past few weeks, several opponents have been connected in some way with Gunther’s group, The Imperium.
Just last week, Giovanni Vinci, a member of Imperium, faced off against Ciampa and lost, while Gunther watched the match backstage on TV, clearly upset. On the other side, Bronson Reed defeated Gable, the last challenger for the IC Title. Tonight, he’ll take on Gable’s partner, Otis. It seems like they’re all vying for a chance at the IC Title at Fastlane. Tonight’s RAW might provide some answers to our questions.
#2 Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ricochet for the World Heavyweight Championship
Another match that WWE could officially announce for the upcoming event is a triple threat match featuring Seth Rollins defending his title against Shinsuke Nakamura and Ricochet. This possibility arises from the recent bout between The King of Strong Style and Ricochet, which ended with Ricochet winning by disqualification. This hints at Ricochet’s potential involvement in the ongoing storyline between Rollins and Nakamura.
Adding Ricochet to the mix would inject new excitement into the rivalry between Nakamura and The Visionary. A triple-threat match involving these three would build anticipation about Rollins potentially losing his title at Fastlane, even without being pinned.
#1 Jey Uso vs. Dominik Mysterio
Another match that could find its way onto the Fastlane 2023 card is a showdown between Jey Uso and Dominik Mysterio. The spark for this potential feud comes from a recent conversation between Dominik and Jey, where Dominik offered Jey the chance to join The Judgment Day.
However, Jey has yet to respond to this offer from The Judgment Day member. If he rejects the offer, it could lead to Jey opposing the villainous faction, resulting in a feud between Dominik and Jey.
Currently, Dominik holds the NXT North American Championship and is set to defend it tonight against Dragon Lee. Incorporating this title into the mix would be a compelling way to feature Jey upon his return to RAW. They could eventually clash for the championship at Fastlane 2023.
