3 Superstars With The Most Matches At Survivor Series

2 years ago By Sports Desk

We have already witnessed the high-octane Crown Jewel 2023 recently. Now with the new storylines, WWE is all set for the upcoming Pay-per-view event of 2023. The upcoming event of WWE will be held at the Allstate Arena in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois. The Survivor Series 2023 is the 37th edition of the event that will take place on November 25. Here in this article, we bring you the list of 3 superstars who have played most of the matches in Survivor Series to date.

Topping the list at #1 is The Undertaker. The Phenom has competed in an astounding 18 matches at Survivor Series over his legendary career. There really was no doubt that The Undertaker would top this list, as no one is more synonymous with Survivor Series than him.

At the Survivor Series 1990, The Undertaker started by making a surprise entry as a final member of Ted Dibiase’s team. And one year later, The Undertaker won his first-ever WWF Championship at Survivor Series. He defeated Hulk Hogan in this match, due to the interference of Ric Flair. Having entered in 18 matches in the ring The Undertaker stands at the top of the list in most matches by a superstar in Survivor Series.

Two of his losses came in successive years when Mr. Kennedy and Batista were able to defeat The Deadman at Survivor Series. The 2003 edition was also significant, as The Undertaker lost to Vince McMahon in a Buried Alive Match due to Kane’s interference. This marked The Undertaker’s last appearance as The American Badass gimmick before returning to his Deadman persona.

The Undertaker has competed in several specialty matches at Survivor Series including Buried Alive matches and Casket matches. His iconic gimmick seamlessly fits the tone of Survivor Series, making him a cornerstone of the event’s history.

Coming in at #2 is Kane. The Big Red Machine has competed in 17 total matches at Survivor Series under several different gimmicks. His first appearances were under the Isaac Yankem and Fake Diesel gimmicks in 1995 and 1996. It wasn’t until 1997 that Kane made his proper debut at Survivor Series, defeating Mankind.

Kane’s Survivor Series record stands at 8 wins, 7 losses and 2 draws. He hasn’t had very many standout moments compared to others on the list. At the 2010 event, his World Heavyweight Title defense against Edge ended in a disappointing no contest. His most significant storyline came in 2015 when he teamed with The Undertaker to defeat The Wyatt Family, avenging weeks of attacks.

With his mayoral and political commitments taking priority, it is unknown if Kane will ever compete at Survivor Series again. But his lengthy history at the event has cemented his legacy.

Coming in at #3 is Shawn Michaels with 17 matches. Debuting at Survivor Series in 1988, Michaels is the most tenured wrestler on this list. While he boasts an inferior record of 7 wins and 10 losses, the event encapsulates the highs and lows of his career.

His victory in the first-ever Elimination Chamber match in 2002 to win the World Title marked a highlight. But the infamous Montreal Screwjob in 1997 represented one of Michaels’ most controversial moments. After seemingly retiring following that match, Michaels returned in 2002 for his comeback run.

His actual final match occurred in 2008 when he teamed with Triple H unsuccessfully against John Cena. In a shocking twist, Michaels superkicked his own partner during the bout to prove there would be surprises. The Showstopper’s storied history with Survivor Series is etched in wrestling lore.

In conclusion, The Undertaker, Kane and Shawn Michaels have defined Survivor Series through their lengthy histories and iconic moments. As we approach Survivor Series 2023, perhaps we will see one of these legends compete at the classic event once more. But their legendary impacts have already solidified Survivor Series as a cornerstone of WWE history.
