Booker T changes tune on WWE NXT Superstar Wes Lee

2 years ago By Sports Desk

In a world where opinions can shift as rapidly as in-ring maneuvers, former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee has managed to transform doubters into believers, even among the most unwavering skeptics.

One of those skeptics turned supporters is none other than the wrestling icon Booker T. Though initially not convinced about Lee’s potential, Booker T has made a complete turnaround and is now singing the praises of the emerging WWE NXT Superstar.

Booker T changes opinion of NXT Superstar Wes Lee

Speaking on his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T reflected on his initial skepticism towards Wes Lee. He openly admitted that when he first arrived at NXT, Lee wasn’t on his radar at all. The Superstar’s style didn’t seem to align with Booker T’s expectations, leading him to perceive Lee as a one-dimensional performer focused on acrobatics. However, time and performance have altered Booker T’s perception significantly.

In a complete turnaround, Booker T now sees Wes Lee as a versatile and remarkable talent. He highlighted the grit and determination that Lee brings to his matches, implying that the Superstar’s performances reflect a fighter’s spirit. Over the course of the past few months, Lee’s evolution in the ring has been nothing short of remarkable, and Booker T has become an ardent admirer of his work.

Booker T’s newfound admiration for Wes Lee doesn’t just stop at praising his current capabilities. When asked whether Lee has outgrown the NXT North American Championship, Booker T was thoughtful in his response. Despite Lee’s prowess, Booker T believes there’s still room for growth, considering the Superstar’s relatively young age. He acknowledged Lee’s twin rivalries with Mustafa Ali and the current North American Champion Dominik Mysterio, indicating that Lee is still firmly positioned within the division.

Contrary to some speculations, Booker T expressed reservations about Lee’s readiness for potential matches against NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes or Bron Breakker. For Booker T, Wes Lee and the North American Championship go hand in hand. He believes that the title holds significant importance in Lee’s journey and that he could solidify his legacy by remaining focused on the division.
