Ciryl Gane Backing Former Rival Francis Ngannou In Boxing Match Against Tyson Fury

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Ciryl Gane recently claimed that Francis Ngannou could be the one to break Tyson Fury’s undefeated boxing record. ‘Bon Gamin’ weighed in on the upcoming heavyweight boxing matchup and backed his former rival to pull off an upset.

While Gane is aware that the odds are stacked against Ngannou in the squared circle, he’s aware of the Cameroonian’s unbelievable punching power. Interestingly, Ciryl Gane was Ngannou’s last opponent in the UFC. The two former teammates famously clashed at UFC 270, where Gane challenged for Ngannou’s title.

Despite competing with an injured knee, Francis Ngannou secured a unanimous decision win. Soon after, ‘The Predator’ exited the UFC and signed a groundbreaking contract with the PFL. As Ngannou left as the heavyweight champion, Ciryl Gane fought Jon Jones for the vacant title and lost via first-round submission at UFC 285.

After his exit, Francis Ngannou moved heaven and earth to secure the boxing match of his dreams. While he was linked to Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, Ngannou had his sights on Tyson Fury. After months of speculations, the Cameroonian finally got his man.

On October 28, Saudi Arabia will host the Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury boxing match. The fight will take place under professional boxing rules. Three judges will use the 10-point must system to score the contest. Although the fight will count on their professional records, Fury will not be defending his WBC title.

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Ciryl Gane shared his two cents on the matchup. While the Frenchman admitted Tyson Fury has a better chance of winning, he couldn’t count out his compatriot. He said that he would be backing Ngannou to defeat Tyson Fury and looks forward to ‘The Predator’ surprising everyone.

Ciryl Gane also touched upon the fact that Francis Ngannou always wanted to become a boxer. With Ngannou known as the hardest-hitting puncher in MMA, ‘Bon Gamin’ is predicting an upset victory.
