Drew McIntyre’s Victory And The Bloodline’s Assault

6 hours ago By Jhon Woug

Drew McIntyre carried his tremendous winning streak to December 23rd, 2024, on WWE Raw, winning a much-anticipated rematch against Sami Zayn from their match during WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The win by the Scottish Warrior was overshadowed at the end by the ambush of him by The Bloodline, as this creates tensions to have a big explosion in the following weeks.

McIntyre’s Dominance

The main event of Raw was Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn in a long and hard match. McIntyre dominated from bell to bell since he was making the most, especially off his opponent’s apparent less-than-100% level. Not that Zayn didn’t have his moment or two of going on offense, and not that his effort wasn’t impressive; it just wasn’t enough to challenge McIntyre beyond the point to where he even could have looked for a little more.

Indeed, throughout the match, McIntyre had an arsenal of moves so beautifully executed: his Glasgow Kiss and Claymore Kick. Zayn, ever the never-say-die character, fought back valiantly at times and was even able to counter a few of McIntyre’s attacks. In one instance, Zayn countered a Claymore attempt into a clothesline and followed it through with an exploder suplex, allowing the audience for a brief moment to really hope there would be an upset.

But it was McIntyre’s relentless attack that finally wore Zayn down. The tide of the match changed when McIntyre surprised Zayn with a surprise Claymore Kick as the former Intercontinental Champion was trying to regain his composure in the corner. This proved to be the decisive blow for McIntyre, as he managed to gain the pinfall victory and thus stretched his winning streak over Zayn25.

Post-Match Assault

This celebration was very short-lived for McIntyre, however, as he immediately went on the post-match attack against the already battered Zayn25. The aggression here by McIntyre just shows how ruthless he has become—a trait that has been inbuilt in his character since his return to WWE programming.

Zayn had just been ambushed and it was Uso who had reacted instinctively in an effort to save his old friend, whom he also saw as his acquaintance25. He rushed into the ring in response to this desperate plea. However, that wasn’t the best thing he had done; though his effort put McIntyre into a shell in which he retreated into his corner for an escape route to the ringside area, such respite this brought about both for Zayn and himself was to prove short-lived at the arrival of The Bloodline.

The Shocking Appearance of Bloodline

As Jey Uso was about to check on Sami Zayn, the tension in the arena suddenly filled up as Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga-the core members of the new Bloodline faction-made their way to the ring25. Their presence immediately shifted the balance of power, creating a palpable sense of dread among the WWE Universe.

The Bloodline struck immediately and mercilessly. The first to attack was Tama Tonga, sending Jey Uso tumbling off the top rope while he was trying to deliver his signature Uso Splash. That left Uso in a weakened position, vulnerable to the remainder of The Bloodline to continue their assault on him and already weakened Sami Zayn.

The Brutality Unfolds

What followed was a display of pure strength and dominance by The Bloodline. Solo Sikoa, the self-proclaimed new Tribal Chief, was right in the middle of the assault. He drove his Samoan Spike into both Jey Uso and Sami Zayn, who were laid out on the mat2528.

Jacob Fatu, the newest member of The Bloodline, made his presence felt with impressive athleticism as he leaped off to execute a springboard moonsault onto Sami Zayn. The high-flying maneuver was a testament to the in-ring prowess of Fatu but also to the message being sent out by this new version of The Bloodline about what it could now do.

Drew McIntyre stayed at the ramp entrance during this assault, observing. Not stepping inside the ring and attempting to break up this assault somehow called his allegiance, or at least some passive acceptance of The Bloodline, into question.

Aftermath and Implications

It remained that as Raw went off the air, the WWE Universe had left their picture with the Jey Usos and Sami Zayn lying battered inside the ring, whereas The Bloodline stood tall outside of the ring as medical officials came running to see fallen superstars while making it more intense. 25.

That was the significant ramification going forward into the Bloodline storyline. More importantly, Solo Sikoa sent a pretty clear message to Roman Reigns going into their Tribal Combat match scheduled for the WWE Raw Netflix Premiere 28: Everybody is fair game—brother included—as he makes his statement of being the new leader of The Bloodline.

The Bloodline Saga Evolves

The attack of Raw is another chapter in a constantly evolving bloodline storyline, having been a big part of the WWE programming for the past few years. The very first Bloodline, led by Roman Reigns, dominated WWE for a long stretch of time since Reigns dominated the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for as long as an astonishing 1,316 days26.

Everything changed when Cody Rhodes finally defeated Reigns at WrestleMania 40, thus ending his historic reign26. With the power vacuum created, Solo Sikoa came forward to lead The Bloodline, adding newer members such as Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga into the fold to form a powerful new faction29.

The return of Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2024 as a babyface further complicated the dynamics within the Bloodline29. This led to an all-out assault by Sikoa’s group, culminating in a six-man tag team match between the two teams at WWE Crown Jewel, which saw the new Bloodline emerge victorious35.

Drew McIntyre’s Role in the Conflict

This complex web of alliances and rivalry has only piled on more into the storyline as they included Drew McIntyre. After his return to the WWE programming, McIntyre went on a spree targeting superstars associated with The Bloodline, particularly Sami Zayn and Jey Uso25.

McIntyre’s motivations clearly come from personal history with The Bloodline, specifically his defeat at the hands of Roman Reigns back at Clash at the Castle in 2022. The interference by Bloodline resulted in McIntyre losing the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in front of his home crowd. That is what has led to McIntyre’s dominant streak lately and an apparent vendetta against anyone connected with The Bloodline.

Looking Ahead: Potential Developments

The events of this episode of Raw have set up a few possible storyline developments:

Tribal Combat Showdown: An attack by Sikoa and his group from The Bloodline will only fuel the Tribal Combat lead-up into the Roman Reigns WWE Raw Netflix Premiere 28, but hopefully make it fierce. More than that, however, this bout might settle which of the three to make an actual leader within The Bloodline, and furthermore, that would mean more to the whole faction.

Alignment of Drew McIntyre: McIntyre’s decision not to interfere in the attack by The Bloodline raises a number of questions about his potential alliance, or at least a non-aggression pact, with Sikoa’s group. This sets up some very interesting dynamics for future interactions with Roman Reigns and the original Bloodline members.

Sami Zayn and Jey Uso React: That merciless attack on Zayn and Uso will definitely raise their urge for revenge. This can further form a counter-alliance, possibly involving other superstars who have been wronged by The Bloodline in the past.

Implications for Survivor Series: With the usual WarGames matches at Survivor Series, the conflict within Bloodline at the moment could very well set up a huge multi-man match featuring OG Bloodline-Roman Reigns, The Usos, and probably Sami Zayn against Sikoa’s new Bloodline in a WarGames match.

Championship Opportunities: Since the Bloodline saga is going to continue to dominate WWE storylines, championship implications are likely to come into play. Whether it’s McIntyre pursuing the World Heavyweight Championship or members of The Bloodline setting their sights on tag team gold, the conflict could spill over into title pictures across both Raw and SmackDown.

Conclusion

McIntyre regaining victory over Sami Zayn and the subsequent Bloodline beatdown deepens one of the most compelling storylines in WWE today: personal vendettas, family drama, and the struggle for control within the Bloodline keep the WWE Universe hooked.

As WWE approaches its Netflix debut and moves further into 2024, with important events looming large, such as the Survivor Series, the Bloodline storyline stands at the lead. Coming weeks and months would bring more fierce confrontations, shocking alliances, and game-changing matches that set up the future of the WWE landscape.

The WWE Universe is waiting with bated breath to see how this complex storyline unfolds, with Drew McIntyre, Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and the rest of The Bloodline at the center of what could be one of the most memorable storylines in recent WWE history.
