Wrestling’s Shifting Landscape: Scrypts’ Departure And WWE’s New Era

11 months ago By Jhon Woug

Change is an invariable factor, be it in life or on stage. From one promotion to another, from one generation to another, and yet from wrestler to wrestler, all wrestling promotions come and go, always changing or new events to come. Fans are still eager for what’s coming next. In the past, stories like the upcoming departure of Scrypts to the NXT Superstar have been a contributing factor to the attention the WWE news is getting. Lately, however, the stability of the company has witnessed a positive shift under the new leadership of Paul Levesque.

Scrypts (originally he was called Reggie) was one of those emerging guys from NXT who created around many different mysteries that captured the imaginations of fans. On the other hand, in the midst of the general enthusiasm for his NXT bows, his inability to make a great difference in the exacting arena of the brand was a pretty evident scenario. After over a year of doing some impressive things on game day, his WWE contract is now expiring, and Scrypts has verified that he will be leaving the company as a free agent in order to explore new opportunities.

The revelation that Scrypts will not be here forever has turned the minds of students towards ascertaining what he will be doing after the term ends. He is an incredible wrestler with the special flair to fight in the air. Therefore, he is unquestionably a valuable asset to any wrestling company. Of course, he can venture into the independent wrestling scene or join an already existing major promotion. No matter the choice, it is predictable that the fans will be excited about seeing where his career is going next.

However, there has been a caveat backstage: Paul Levesque’s leadership has brought a new change in aura; more specifically, the way the superstars look at themselves now, instead of being arrogant, they are humble and respectful. The celebrated Bully Ray, who has been my guest on Busted Radio, has expressed his views as to how things have changed since he departed from the WWE. Per Bully, WWE now feels cooler and more enjoyable as a place of work compared to previous times, and teamwork that he has not seen before is evidenced by this. This robust change of mentality is a good sign for the company and its employees’ future.

As the WWE is trying hard to grow and bring innovations, the recent WWE draft has also made a considerable contribution to the landscape of the wrestling empire. Several well-known members of the Dudley Boyz, devisers of the picks for both Raw and SmackDown, primarily held on to their current brands, with only a few exceptions and some NXT call-ups.

The world of WWE itself is not the only one that is going through a transition period, as the broader context of professional wrestling is also in a transforming state. Indie organisations are blossoming; through these promotions, new artists can be focused on and receive the attention they deserve while communicating directly with their supporters at a grassroots level. At the same time, international advertisement campaigns are growing, appealing to the greatest talents from different corners of the world, and drawing the attention of the audience to the entire world of wrestling.

As the wrestling landscape continues to evolve, one thing remains constant: a fan base for the club with immense love and commitment for the game. In my opinion, wrestling brings sold-out arenas and virtual watch parties to life and shows how fans are always behind and alongside their favourite superstars and promotions with unswerving brightness. Professional wrestling has much in common with passion, with fans not just watching but also participating in their bond with the wrestlers, who tie them to the screen with each exciting match and surprising twist, ensuring that the professional wrestling world will live on for years to come.
