Kevin Nash Says He Is Not Going To Royal Rumble To Eliminate LA Knight

2 years ago By Sports Desk

A WWE legend, who had his last solo match against Triple H and lost, has made it clear that he won’t be returning to wrestling.

Kevin Nash’s final solo WWE match took place at the TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs 2011 Premium Live Event. He faced Triple H in a Sledgehammer Ladder match and lost to his real-life best friend that day. Three years later, Nash participated in the Royal Rumble match.

Recently, Nash talked about potentially entering the Royal Rumble match to confront CM Punk if he returned to WWE. However, on his latest podcast, Kliq THIS, Nash stated that he was only joking and had no intention of making a wrestling comeback.

“After that match, I woke up the next day feeling minimal soreness, you know. I’m currently working on getting back in shape. But I promise you, all I want to do is hit the gym; I have no plans to step into the ring,” Nash explained.

Nash also joked about a conversation he had with Triple H regarding WWE Superstar LA Knight. LA Knight had taken a shot at Nash on TV, and Nash playfully mentioned discussing Knight’s contract with Triple H.

“Paul (Triple H) told me, ‘I don’t understand this kid…’ ‘Kid? This guy is my age. Are you more concerned about his fan appeal fading faster than his hairline?’ Unless you’re just being ridiculous, those sunglasses are not something you should wear. Paul said, ‘We’re so far apart that the only way I’d sign this guy is as a nostalgia act.’ ‘Like a legends deal?’ ‘Yeah, he’s doing what we’ve already seen. I can’t pay him the same as guys who are doing something new and original.'”

He continued, “There were rumors that I might enter the Royal Rumble to settle the score with LA Knight as if I’m trying to make a comeback at 64. Remember when Hunter returned at 45 and tore his pec? The other day, I comfortably lifted 275 pounds for eight reps on an incline machine, with no strain, and no pain. I woke up the next day with some soreness. I’m getting back in shape, but I want to emphasize that I’m not planning to return to the ring.”

Nash’s last in-ring appearance dates back to 2016 when he defeated Kennedy Kendrick at the Legends of Wrestling Entertainment Dome Show in Miami, Florida. It’s highly improbable that he’ll step back into the wrestling ring.
